About Nicole Feaver Taylor

Mother, School Teacher, and Fiber Artist.

I founded Feaverishly Quilting in 2010. However, I started sewing back when I was little with my mom and nana. Nowadays, I sew for sanity. Literally, as a middle school teacher and mother, I need a creative outlet that allows me to focus on the project at hand. I love to challenge myself and continue to further my skills as a fiber artist.

Feaverishly Quilting developed out of my love of making handmade quilts for family, friends, and co-workers. Over the past ten years, it has grown from a hobby to a small business.

The name, Feaverishly Quilting, was thought of by my husband, Andrew. He wanted a name for my business that would speak to my families history in sewing and quilting. After we got married, I kept my maiden name in my Facebook profile, Nicole Feaver Taylor. That way people that I grew up with still recognize the name. Along with sewing being a passionate hobby, the name Feaverishly Quilting was born.

All of my items are handmade by me. Each piece is truly unique. In many of my items, I try to incorporate texture into their design, whether it be through the use of a variety of surfaces or raggedy edge seams. Medical studies show that the texture promotes brain development at an early age. I strategically place texture in all of my items for babies.

All sewing and quilting items are available through my Shop, with both made-to-order and finished items available. If you are looking for something unique and special for you or someone you love, please get in touch with me today through my website to begin your custom order.

Quilting Expertise

I sewed my first quilt while I was in ninth grade. Since then I have taken on many different quilting challenges. My favorite type of quilt to make is a raggedy quilt because it is a blend of flannel fabrics and it incorporates texture in the raggedy seams. It is my favorite gift for baby showers. The sensory aspect helps to stimulate brain development. It is perfect to use for tummy time or to snuggle up on the couch with.

Since starting Feaverishly Quilting, I have explored many different quilting techniques to fulfill custom requests and challenge my skills. Including Fused Fiber Art, Applique, Free Motion Quilting, and creating my own patterns.

Sewing Expertise

All of my products are made with high-quality materials and are 100% made by me. I’m a self-taught sewer and have been designing and making items for twenty-five years. My career is being a full-time school teacher, so I often use sewing as a way to de-stress from the work day. It has been a blessing that my hobby has transformed into a small business.

Making adorable things that babies, children, and adults will love and enjoy for years is my goal. My products are unique and one-of-a-kind!

I have pre-made items for sale through My Shop. You can also submit a custom order for an idea that you have even if you do not see it on my website. I love to take on new challenges and expand my skills!

Sewing Lessons

As a full-time teacher, helping others learn new skills or develop old skills comes naturally. I started teaching sewing classes and private lessons in 2011 at People Places and Quilts (PPQ) in Summerville, SC. PPQ is one of the Top 10 Quilting Stores in the United States. Thus, their popularity and class schedule was very extensive. After having my son in 2015 and moving my family back to my hometown of Modesto, California. I am still teaching private lessons. Feel free to contact me about a lesson today, I would be happy to help you learn a new sewing or quilting skill!

Embroidery & Monogram Expertise

Contemporary embroidery is stitched with a computerized machine using patterns digitized with computer software. In machine embroidery, different types of “fills” add texture and design to the finished work.

My work is available for adding logos and monograms to clothing, hats, bath towels, household linens, pillowcases, quilts, totes, blankets, and more! Making it possible to achieve that personalized touch for your next baby shower or wedding gift with an embroidered monogram!

My skills allow for creating free-motion embroidered items. Perfect for textile arts, quilting, dressmaking, home furnishings and more.
